what is the best field of study for computer studies?

i am considering returning back to school for information technology what is a solid field of study, such as programmer, networking or any other suggestions

i think the best way to learn computers now is hands on. thats how i learned and im doing just fine with that type of training. my suggestion is to hook up with a recycling company and learn how the technology evolves. the money today is in understanding where its going by knowing where the science came from. i have met many people who went to prestigous schools with degrees who dont have the practical knowledge to come in out of the rain. books are one thing but common sense will always beat it out. good luck.

computer security is the most intresting in my opinion but its a hard feild to learn since the information is always changing. Its really something you have to have a intrest. and its one of the feilds you not gona be seeing teen aged kids doing your job anytime soon
