Of course. If I were dumb enough to still support Bush then why would the death of a child change that? Those who still support Bush cannot be changed or saved. They are lost souls.

War is justifiable if you are defending yourself (in this case - your country) so the real question comes down to - are we defending america - the real answer is - NO That being said - lets recognize the quagmire for what it is now - we are there - we are fightiing - and we have people dying there - what do we do about it? It doesnt matter who supports whom at this point or what the root cause of it is - the fact that it exist and needs to be addressed is what counts - so how do we address it?? The solution - bring them home where they belong - the longer we stay there the worse it gets - the more our people will die - the more the outside world will hate us - the more we get entangled with the things going on over the - just bring them home and all those problems disappear Jeeper-Creeper: Congress passed a resolution but did NOT follow the constitution - so - in effect we broke our laws - Cngress, according to the constitution, is the ONLY group who has the authority to declare war on another countyr AND that was NOT done going into Afganistan or Iraq - regardless of what resolution they passed WAR was never declared As for anyone else stupid enough to believe the war is justified - all bush did was replace the "cold war" with the "war on terror". If this "war on terror" was a real war 1. what country are we at war with? 2. how do we know when we win the war? 3. how do we know when the war is over? You can see how it is an open ended war - if you cant you need to get some mental glasses - there is no way to win - by declaring a "war on terror" we have basically set ourselves up to be the "world police" - if you dont see the inherent dangers in this you guys are much worse off then I thought.

Dude, do you know what Friendly Fire is. I servered 8 years in the Military and have been to Afgan, Iraq, Saudi, Egypt, Deigo, as well as being deployed to other locations around the world. Serving your country in war and peace time is one of the most unselfish acts a person can do in there life. You seem to be a Bush basher, but you will NVER know or imagine what the feeling would be to kill another soldier a brother, friend, in the line of duty by accident. You should be ashamed of yourself to ask a question like that. Those of us who have served, no what is expected of us, when we sign the dotted line, to protect our civil liberities so you can ask these bush hating questions. As a former soldier, My heart goes out to any families that have lost someone, for our freedoms, who had to read this garbage question. Grow up Dude.

#1) There's no such thing as "friendly fire"
#2) It's not so much supporting Bush, it's whether or not you support the war. If you do, than you should be proud of your son dying in the service of his country. However, if you do not support the war, than you would never have supported Bush's proposal in the beginning, thus no change of beliefs.
#3) If you were to switch positions so quickly/casually...than you obviously don't have deep, informed beliefs anyway.

If my brother was to die in Iraq by "friendly fire", I would still take pride in the fact that he was protecting out freedom in this country. I would still support the idea of the freedom of people in this world. Which is why we need to take care of this terrorist problem.
Just take a look at the JFK Terror Plot this weekend.
You're a Bush hater, aren't ya?

I would grieve for his loss. I would want the error that caused his death investigated so future events may be eliminated. But blame the President, no. That would be like blaming Hillery for all bad real estate ventures in White Water Arkansas. Just because she was an investor doesn't mean it was her fault all those people lost money. Just as Bush is President and head of the military doesn't make him responsible for every military blunder.

Would it really make any difference if it were "friendly fire" or an enemy with a bomb strapped to his chest? It's a war - and either you support our objectives or you are accepting a policy of defeat. If you accept defeat, are you also ready to accept the Islamic radicals' demands - or are you truly in denial?

incognitowtruck's son would be a coward just like him and there would be no chance he would serve in combat so this would purely be a hypothetical question for him...the son in all likelyhood would be a REMF like his old man.
