I woke up this morning and my temp was 99.0 (which is high for me) later on in the day i took it again and my temp was down to 98.4.

My question is--if ur pregnant, is ur temp suppose to stay spiked or does it come back down once you start moving around and stuff?

Your BBT should be the lowest during the morning hours after first waking and it gets higher as the day goes on. However, if you had been eating, drinking, smoking, etc, during the day then that could be the reason for the drop. But more likely you were running a low-grade fever when you took your temp this morning. Wait and see if tomorrow's temp is around the 99 mark and if not, then just use the rule of thumb for today's temp and discard it. When you are pregnant your waking temps will stay high for the duration of the pregnancy.

Once you are up and out of bed anything and everything will effect your temperature. Therefore don't read anything into temperatures taken during the day. Take your temp again tomorrow. You need to see at least two days of consecutive high temps before you can assume that ovulation has occurred. Then your temp will stay elevated until you have your period. If you are pregnant then you should see a second jump in your temperature.
