The willingness to listen and hear other viewpoints and give them respect. This doesn't imply that an open-minded person changes his/her own views, but he can agree to disagree and still respect the other person's right to a different view.

The ability to accept that I'm not always right.
The knowledge that confirmation bias is difficult to overcome.
The willingness to accept that I don't have all the answers.
The commitment to at least listen to another's POV even if I initially disagree.
The openness to respect the opinion of another after I've considered their POV and find that their is evidence to the contrary in what they claim as truth. (Respect does not mean agreeing with.)

Having an "open mind" means that your are willing to consider another's open, and that you are open and willing to change your attitude/view on something.
Sorta figuring this out myself, but this is what it means so far to me.

The decision to not live life "in a rut."
We have always been open to new experiences.
The ability to live impulsively is an asset.
Also, we do not judge people of other lifestyles as "less equal" human beings.

I am open minded to the idea that everyone elses considered opinions have merit so long as they mesh 100% with my opinions.
