Unfortunately to many of us, the answer is no. You must plug in a gamecube controller into the wii in order to play these games. However, it has been announced that "Super Smash Brothers: Brawl" for the Wii is to be released this august!

No, you have to flip the little flap on the Wii and plug in GC controllers for GC games.

Unfortunately not. Not even the classic controller. Gamecube game, Gamecube controller. That's just how it is.
