Anyone know a good documentary about art/artists and how they relate to the communities they live in?

I'm hosting a film discussion and am looking for a good documentary about art/artists and how they relate with their community at large. Does anyone have any good suggestions? We were thinking originally about Andy Warhol, but I'd like some other suggestions for a documentary. Looking for a film not as much about the artists but about the community.

In the last two weeks there was a very good 3 part series on artists and crafts people in their community that came out of the Smithsonian. Available on video tape or DVD
