I have a Honda em xb 5 hp gc160 generator. Is there a quieter muffler I can purchase and install my self ?

All after market muffler will have louder noise than the original manufactured ones. If you want a quieter one, you can choose those after market ones with a silencer. However, the silencer blocks the airflow that the after market muffler is supposed have, and so the performance of your car will go down. If you want to be able to install the muffler by yourself, you better get a direct bolt on ones, so you can save some extra work on welding it, and the risk of having the air leak on it. Here are some brands that I'd recommend:

Borla, HKS, DC Sports, and Spoon sports. Spoon is probably the best product for Honda vehicles in my opinion.
