I'm in the Auto Body business, and it sounds like she did about $7,000 worth of damage ... that would be Felony Property Damage. Sure, she's cute and all .. but aren't our Insurance Rates high enough?

You have a valid point, morally and ethically, but I don;t think I would go so far as to believe that there will be an epidemic of louisville slugger sales because of her lyrics and I certainly don't think your insurance rates are going to increase because of it.

I think the majority of people that listen to it only see the humor in it (I know...it isn't humorous if it were my vehicle that were vandalised)

I am just saying that it has caught one because truthfully, it has a nice beat and I would venture to guess that there are a lot of women out there that get some satisfaction in hearing that she took out some vigilante justice.

In no way am I condoning it or think it is ethically correct but...it is a song and perhaps you are reading too much into it or what effect it may have on the population. For the most part it, it is just listened to and enjoyed.

Can you honestly say that you have never enjoyed a song that you would not personally have done or said that was being portrayed in the lyrics but perhaps had some small sense of connection to it that you just happened to like...musically or lyrically? Just a thought.

Ok, first of all, it's just a song. Secondly, there are songs all throughout country music about far worse subject. Here are some cases in point:

Goodbye Earl by the Dixie Chicks, subject - spousal abuse and murder.
Delta Dawn by Tanya Tucker, subject - insanity
Red Ragtop by Tim Mcgraw, subject - teen sex and abortion
The Pill by Loretta Lynn, subject - birth control
Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks, subject - adultery and murder
Night The Light Went Out In Georgia by Reba Mcintire, subject - adultery and murder
Ode To Billy Joe, subject - suicide
Strawberry Wine, subject - loosing virginity
Sunday Morning Coming Down by Johnny Cash, subject - coming down from drug/alcohol use
Whiskey Lullabye by Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss, subject - adultery and drinking yourself to death
Old Red by Blake Shelton, subject - adultery, murder, and escaping from prison.
I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again by Toby Kieth, subject - drug use

Now these are just a handful of songs dealing with worse topics than vandalism. By the way Joe Diffie had a song once called John Deere Green, and that song was about vandalism too. It's just good country music, and if someone is stupid enough to try something they heard in a song, then they shouldn't be alive in the first place cause they are obviously already brain dead. My whole point is, why complain about what's in a song, just because it deals with something you do for a living. I'm a farmer, and I don't complain about Kenny Chesney singing She Thinks My Tractors Sexy. I hope this helped you, and if I were you, I'd worry more about rap or metal music than country, cause country is harmless compaired to those genres.

I don't like the song, it has nothing to do with Carrie though. I think it made her feel better after finding out her boyfriend was a snake, but it really isn't something you should do. Would it be ok if a guy did that to his ex girlfriends car? No, he'd be in the slammer.

It is accepted by society. We laugh at songs like this. The other writer is correct as long as it is men who are hurt it is okay.
But it is wrong, no one should encourage violence against another group.
It is especially wrong when it comes to getting even because of someone being dumped.
The only right about this is if watching the video or listening to the songs replacing actually doing anything like what happens in the song.
The way to deal with this is by not watching the videos or listening to the songs that glorify violence.

With the gas prices rising I'd say he should take the settlement and buy a bicycle. Everyone knows that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...and we don't go after the cars, we hit below the belt....

I half laugh at your comment. Although I totally agree with you. That's why I turn off the song and video anytime I see it. I'm not going to feel like I am encourage this crap. Although if the Dixie Chicks could sing about FIRST DEGREE MURDER and HIDING THE CORPSE among other crimes in Goodbye Earl, then I guess we shouldn't run down Carrie Underwood.
