On a PC, just right-click on it and select save a background.
If you don't want the image to tile (i.e. many images to fill the whole screen instead of one), right-click on desktop, select properties, click on the Desktop tab on top. To the lower right, you should see a drop-down box for the position. Select from the three options to what you like.
P.S. A screensaver is different from a wallpaper. It is the animation that plays when you computer goes idle.

You can right click on the pic and select the save as option to save as a bitmap or jpeg file. then place the file in your C:\Windows directory.
Then rightclick on your desktop and select Properties then Desktop and scroll down untill you find the new one and select and apply it.
You can't however use pics for a screensaver unless you have webshots or sone other similar program to place your pictures in.
