I don't want to bother going out and buying a usb bluetooth adapter so I was wondering if there was something out there on the internet I could just download and be able to connect my bluetooth enabled phone to my laptop. However I realize I may just have to cave and go buy the adapter. Any info would be appreciated though.

If you want to literally connect your bluetooth to your laptop, you will need an adapter. But if you can already plug it in, and it just doesn't work, chances are you can download software from the BlueTooth site that will make your laptop compatible. Any program that makes hardware compatible with your computer is called a driver. Almost ALL major manufacturers have drivers downloadable from their sites.

However, if you lack a cable, or any other way of connecting your device, you will most likely have to cave and buy the adapter.

NO, ALL computers need an adapter if you want ot use bluetooth. Sometimes they're built in on the very newest, most of the times you want an internal card, the usb ones bite.
