Yeah its enough for running windows since the installation takes about 6-8 gigs depending the configuration you got it in. Also I would advise going up to 512 MB or even 1 GB. 256 is not enough and is really the minimum for running XP. Pro runs the best with 1 GB but is still pretty good under 512 MB as long as you are not doing heavy duty gaming or anything. I am guessing this is mostly for work [office, SAP] and things like that. If so then you are good to go. If you want gaming or media then try HP since they have better deals for that.

That is plenty to run your system. This machine will only be used for work, email and surfing the net, right? Latitdes are great business machines and are pretty much considered bullitproof, but they are NOT for most users who want to burn video or play games. Dimensions and Inspirons are dells CONSUMER line of business. I WOULD recommend adding mor ramm. Its cheap right now.

Yes that is plenty to run the Operating system, I would go with the 512 if you can, the more the better.
