Without funding the soldiers don't get paid,no food,no ammo,no way even to get back to the U.S if that is what they want to do with our troops. The funding doesn't stop the war, it just hurts the troops.

The Pentagon recently reported that it now spends roughly $8.4 billion per month waging the war in Iraq, while the additional cost of our engagement in Afghanistan brings the monthly total to a staggering $10 billion. Since 2001, Congress has spent more than $500 billion on specific appropriations for Iraq. This sum is not reflected in official budget and deficit figures. Congress has funded the war by passing a series of so-called “supplemental” spending bills, which are passed outside of the normal appropriations process and thus deemed off-budget.
We've spent 500 billion dollars , lost over 3000 of our finest, created a civil war in the Middle East and you think we should pay more for the same?

Withdrawing funding from the war is good because without funding we will be forced to pull out of Iraq and that is good. P.S. defund is one word or at least spell it de-fund.

When a action is wrong supporting that action is not proper. I think that the war was one of the USA biggest mistake. We let Osama get away. We should have hunted him down like Bush said he would. We need the troops in the area were Osama is hiding not in Iraq.

indicating to your enemy when you plan on leaving, or reducing (through funding reductions) is a classic military strategic error. We are in jihad with islamic terrorists , this will never end, until one of us is destroyed, period. If we don't bring it to them, they will bring it to us.
