I did it for a show. A hypnotist asked for volunteers and I accepted.

I had a aunt who learned how to hypnotize herself in order to lose weight. She had some good results too.

I used it for:

Quitting smoking.
Loose weight (after I quit, I gained weight)
Now, I'm working on hypnotising myself to focus my mind on a good relationship; quickly re-focusing my mind off my "Ex" onto the wonderful traits of great people in general. I think it's working ... not quite "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" ... but probably more healthy, and great long term sucess!!!

BTW ... Commercials are mini-hypnosis sessions ... You're brain's at the "Alpha" (5-7 frequency) level and most ready for sugestions. Which is why I can't watch too much TV anymore.

I don't think they get hypnotized. I think that they get tired of watching that stupid doctor wave a watch or something in front of their face, so they fall asleep.

Because they want to. Some ppl do it to help them quit smoking or drinking and some use it to help get rid of a fear. I have never done it though.
