To glue pictures on a door that has been painted black should be no problem. You can use most any type of glue, depending on what kind of paper you draw the picture.

If you're not sure how well it would work, take a small piece of the same paper, and glue it to an unseen place on the back to make sure it sticks.

For myself, since I can't draw very well, I would buy some prepasted wallpaper that has the pictures I want, and stick it up.

For example, I found a pre-pasted picture of an ocean view, through a window (a door mural), and I glued it to my door. Now I get to sit in my family room and pretend I am looking at an ocean view through a window.

If you're sure that's what you want, try decoupage. It is a glue that dries clear and as far as I know it will accept a wide range of clear finishes. You apply a thin layer and while it is still wet put the picture you want onto the wet glue. Press it out to ensure 100% contact and let it dry. Then apply more coats as necessary to seal the picture and blend in the edges. I am sure any good craft store should have a book or booklet to explain the exact process.

Good luck on project.

copies on the computer will run if you try to decopage it on, it would be best just to trace the flowers on to the painted wood with white transfer paper and then paint the flowers right onto the wood.
