Is universe made up of particles that give structure to something bigger, thus making life on earth like germs growing on a rock?

Germs are both good and bad so being seen as a germ isn't necessarily a bad thing.
A lot of people have referred to humans as parasite on the earth, sucking the life blood out of it by destroying all its natural resources and polluting the planet. There is some truth in that.
If you are comparing human civilisation as so insignificant compared to the vastness of the universe that we are but as germs on a rock, then you are right, we could be seen as nothing compared to what is out there. But, what if we are the only creature in the universe that does not just exist, but can control its own environment and destiny. Then we would be the most powerful creature or germ in the universe.
Size isn't everything; we can be easily killed by germs that are so small you need a powerful microscope to see them.

D'you know, I've often wondered about this one!
What if we're like tiny microbes crawling over the surface of some tiny particle of dust called the Earth, which in turn is floating around in some dusty room called a solar system, the centre of which is someone's bare electric light bulb? Outside this room is God knows what, probably loads of other rooms which make up a house universe. What's outside the universe?
It works the other way too, what if there's a whole universe inside of me? Filled with molecules infested by other 'human' microbes just like me? Where does it stop? Does it carry on to infinity.
Big fleas have little fleas
Upon their backs to bite em
And little fleas have smaller fleas
An so ad infinitum.

Perhaps it's the universe itself that's a particle...
