Usually, youre not messaging a celebrity in real life, usually youre messaging a marketing company they have hired. Sometimes they will come on an message real people who have been passed along from the company. Sometimes they will visit the site themselves to surprise a fan, but it's rare if they have reached any noteriety. The posts are usually from publicists pretending to be the celeb.

They usually dont respond to "I'm your bigget fan", "I love you so much", "will you play at my high school" or "be my prom date". The best way to get them to respond is to post a very well thought out question or comment that appeals to what their interests are OUTSIDE of their celebrity. I have a friend that I have made and now we even email each other, but it was because my posts were forwarded on to her because they were thought provoking and matched her personal interests. I have another friend that I've been to dinner with but that was only because we were DISTANTLY related and when I messaged them it was forwarded on and was verified by his family. I got to go backstage at his show too, pretty cool.

No I have never. Generally speaking most celebrities don't keep up with their "myspace page". Even if blogs are sometimes posted, that are actual writings about them and not advertisements sometimes they are only giving the info to their publicist or company to post for them. On the same note, it is more likely that the publicist or company representing the celeb is the one checking and updating the profiles not the celeb themselves. I would guess most have at least been to their pages, however I wouldn't see them devoting full work to it. Typically its just used as an advertising/promoting method. I'm not discounting complete contact with celebs, just that its probably not always likely. There is also the high likeliness that some regular ol joe's like you and I, put a pic of a celeb up and put their name in claiming to be them when in fact they are obviously not! Don't give any personal info!

Many music groups and celebrities that have MySpaces aren't really themselves, I don't think. They usually have somebody that manages it for them.

But no, I haven't ever messaged a celebrity.

I talked to several celebrities...mainly the younger ones. Like spectacular from pretty ricky, and Raven Symone. Actually raven never replied, but spectacular replied a few times. It really just depends on the celeb. Some of them actually like talking to their fans, others don't care to.
