Of course they can, and YOUR IP address is listed as the upload source. First the program itself allows you to "browse host". Second any hacker can see more than that.

Your parents and friends can see what you downloaded too. All they do is open up limewire and look in your library. If you dont want people to know what youre doing, live your life as if youre in a glass house. You can take moderate risks, and try to wipe your footprints some, but you want something, you take your risks.

You guys can thumbs down me all you like, but that doesnt change the truth.

Others only see what you allow them to see. And this can be set under Tools, options, sharing. But if everyone felt like you. There would be nothing to download. All the music you see on limewire is on other peoples computers and they are sharing that with you. If you download music, you should place it in the directory that is shared through limewire so others can download from you. Share, it's what makes limewire work.

What do you mean others? Download music from Limewire and when it's 100% complete, it will go into the folder you have defaulted for completed downloads, and then you can delete it from limewire.

No, nobody is able to see your computer. What limewire does is specify a certain folder in which any files in there can be searched by others. Limewire is limited to that folder only for distribution. You can see where that folder is by going to the settings in limewire and it should have a folder usually called a "shared" folder.

Why don't you use better alternative than LimeWire?
E-Mule is the P2P I'm working with for a very long time.

E-Mule DOES NOT have the Browse Host option.
The only way being ''exposed'' is while downloading.

Others will only be able to see what you have "shared". Check your Limewire preferences to see what you have shared on your computer.

First off don't say you download music off limewire, unless you have permission it's illegal.

They can view only what is in your "shared" folder.

You can't expect to download off others with out them being able to download off you ... it's a 2 way thing, unless you want to pay.

Dude...that's about the dumbest thing you can put on a webstie for everyone to read. I WAS TO ILLEAGLY DOWNLOAD MUSIC. You're asking to get busted. Limewire sucks....all file sharing programs suck...use Bit Torrent....

No they can not get through to other files or see other files in your cp. If you still have any worrys just try ezmusic.com and download music right of the site! But they have a lot of ads and u have to enter a email. So make a fake email like a@a.com it works. Then decline and skip all the ads.
