Okay,I would pick it up AFTER it cooled off (sheesh you guys...don't be so serious) and I would call my Mom 'cause she is 80 yrs old and deserves to be the first person I show it to.

Falling stars are actually meteorites burning up as they pass through the atmosphere. Assuming it was one small enough for me to catch, I'd be calling the bloody doctor!

well if i did manage to catch a falling star... i think id die with the sheer force of it and the light from it would definately blind me...... and well the weight n size of it would bury me before i even was dead !! lol so im guessin i wouldnt see it myself id just feel it.... so the next part of ur question doesnt even arise innit..but orite lemme humor u so hypothetically speaking if i caught one..... id keep it ..theres no need to show it to noone !! id save it for my eyes only ! :)
