I have a Acer Aspire 5100-3357 ( bought at circuitcity). I was wondering if there was any way to make it faster or overclock it for gaming. If so, how?

What you would like to do is easier done in desktops than in laptops. Also, gaming performance is much more dependent on GPU architecture and core/mem clock speeds. It is almost impossible to upgrade the 3D graphics capability of laptops. Overclocking the cpu and gpu is also dangerous because there is no way you could significantly improve cooling in a laptop. COOLING is the key to great overclocks.

I'm under the impression the Aspire series are laptops, no? In that case, I would not recommend overclocking the CPU as the cooling is insufficent. Also I'm under the impression that if you had bought it at Circuit City, it would most likely have only intergrated graphics. Highly unsuitable for gaming. However, you can buy a Asus XG Station. It is an external graphics unit, which contains a NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GS graphics card. You can just plug it in to your system via Expresscard. However I do not know any retailers that carry it "just yet." However the rumored price is around $400, so not particularly cheap for a single graphics card solution. Especially with some very good Direct X 10 cards which are selling for merely $300.
