I have never worked on a mazda 6 but in general lighbulbs on any car are relatively easy to change because it is something that is very common. You do not need to take out the head lamp. You should be able to access the bulb from the hood. So, open the hood and look for the wire that goes to where the headlamp should be. SOmetimes is uncomfortable to get your hand in there. Anyways, once you find it put your hand on the plastic and turn it. It should have a piece of plastic where you should be able to put your fingers on it. Once it turn pull it out. Remove the brunt bulb and put the new one in. Put everything back. Oh! don't forget to put the greese on the connectors that came with the new lighbulb.
