How do I capture a field/wild mouse that's in my house? It's bigger than the average-sized house mouse and I'd be using a Catchmaster Mouse & Insect Glue Traps trap. If anyone has any advice/comments, please let me know. Thanks!

The sticky traps work well......put on a dab of peanut butter...they love that stuff....but when they're stuck to the trap..they make a horrible noise trying to get loose....I'm not even going to suggest how to get rid of it...you won't get it loose from the trap without injury and if you try to save it and set it free...chances are it will just come back.

Once you catch it...try to find out where it came from, if there's more and how accessible your food is to future rodents. You would be surprised how crafty they are....and for most mice...anything you can fit a finger through (as small as the diameter of a dime)...they can squish through as well.

good luck.

Put the traps near a source of water (water heater, in the bathroom, under the sinks) because they have to have that. Mice stay close to the wall so be sure and line your trap up with that angle. You know that glue traps are a horrible way for the little beast to die, don't you? They become mired and tear themselves up, and scream and carry on until they suffocate in the glue. Much as I dislike killing things, I set the spring traps to save them from that lingering death.
Good luck. Hope it finds its way out on its own.

well if you catch the mouse buy useing the sticky traps you will find it hard to get it off you might even pull one of its legs off so the easy way would be to get a standard mouse trap it will do it quick no pain for the mouse or if you dont want to kill it you can get mouse traps that just catch them a live and then you can free it

Put the Catchmaster in the middle of your largest room with the most open space. Put a humane trap in a corner or along a wall.

All the answers are great and after the mouse is caught- buy a can of "fill it up" at your local hardware store- use this to seal up the holes in your home that are around your pipes (sinks, dishwashers, washing mach., etc) that is how they get in and this will keep them out and you will save on your energy bill!
