Im 17 male going to collage...

After ranting about my mental health on previous questions, i have been advised to get a 'hobby', for social purposes. Yet i am too scared to do that. I was going to apply for a gym membership and i saw a good friend of mine and turned round and went home. Thats how scared i am of new things and social interaction.

Any hoo, can you think of a hobby/club for me?

The Sims or The Sims 2 would be perfect for you. You can even play it online with people from all over the world.

I would recommend you avoiding any video games as a main hobby. It's not interaction. Even though you may be using a headset, a video game is hardly interaction. I would advise something that would make you interact with people, but not too much. I think something where you work with others to acomplish something, like a technology course. I took a tech lab class and I had to interact with my team to get the prject finished. We really only had to talk about the class itself, but you would at least get out of the house and interact. And you never know, you might make a friend in the class.

Try joining a class. Check out your local community center or community college. There are classes for all different interests and hobbies. Depending on the class, it can be much less socially demanding than a gym.

What about chess? It's somewhat social, but you don't have to engage in a lot of conversation. It's more social than a computer game. I would encourage you away from computer games because they make it easier to avoid social interaction.
