OMG I just got back Thursday from there. Eat at the Greeks. YUM. I went to the Volcano which was amazing veiws of the island on all sides, I then took a Donkey ride up the side of the mountain (this is one of their main attractions for real) and then took the Cable car down the side of the mountain.. It is beautiful. MAKE SURE YOU DON"T PAY STICKER PRICE FOR ANYTHING! I was silly not knowing you can barter, ask for a cheaper price always. Also Eruo is worth more money than US, get it changed over on a good rate day. Congrats!

Visit Akrotiri - it's Santorini's Pompeii - destroyed by the catastrophic eruption in about 1500 BC - the excavations are fascinating if you like a bit of history. Go to the lava beaches - black sand is just weird! Go to taste wine - Santorini has some very pleasant ones that are well worth trying.
Oh - and test out the facilities in your hotel - it is your homeymoon after all!

I think that santorini is a good place for a honey moon because actually, there's not much to do but do what honeymooners should be doing: enjoy each other.

Hi Congratulation first of all!
My husband and i are going to be in santorini for our 1 year anniversary in 2 weeks!
Anyhow, The most BEAUTIFUl sunset you will ever see can be seen in the town of FIRA. Also, At the south part of the island you willl find a beautiful red sand beach.
Honestly it is more fun to rent a car and ride around yourself. But be careful of the roads. VERY VERY Windy and no guard rails.
Also, you can take a donkey up to the famous monestary. They say its about 1,000 stairs to go out.
Hope you have fun!

Besides the obvious which should keep you both occupied for some time, you should visit Akrotiri. Discovered in the early 60s it is like Pompeii but 1400 years earlier. You should also visit the growing volcano in the middle of the bay. After all this is the site of the big est volcanic explosion in human history. There are plenty of restaurants bars ad dancing going on. Visit all the town in the island. The beaches are made of black pebbles (molten basalt from the explosion.

You'll be on your Honeymoon. Don't worry about "what to do" ... believe me you will enjoy the locale just by being there and as to what to do, you should be so wrapped up in one another that "doing" anything except enjoying the moment shouldn't be on the menu.
Talk to the locals when and if you go out to eat; walk, enjoy the scenery, take a boat ride, just enjoy being there.
And, Good Luck in your marriage. May you live long and happy lives together.

No. No one has ever been to Santorini. You will be the first one actually. And on what to do on your honeymoon...let me think...hmm that's tough...perhaps solve some complex mathematical equations? why not...

It's a great place to rent little 4-wheel all terain vehicles, which are very easy to drive. You can cover the whole island in a day of riding around and see all the towns. There's also a great beach -- very unusual because it doesn't have sand, just very smooth rounded pebbles that massage your feet as you walk through them.

There's lots to do! Check out the following website - it's got plenty of great details.

Also, please think twice about riding the donkeys. Many of them are horribly abused. Take the tram instead.
