I am going to watch the Godfather tonight with my son, and was wondering why it was rated R. I imagine violence which is fine but is there a lot of sex/ nudity? Cursing I'm sure. Thanks

There is no nudity or cursing. Alot of violence that was pretty bad for the time it was made but tame in todays standards.
It is a great movie though. You both will enjoy it!

No there isn't. I can't quite remember, but I don't remember any nudity scenes in any of the Godfather's movies. There are sex scenes but no nudity. You won't see anything. You father has good taste. I love that movie too.

It's my opinion that the rating is due to the violence, especially the scenes where they show a decapitated horses head in a mans bed, a man being brutally gunned down by a dozen henchmen in cold blood, etc... No offense, but if it were me, I'd watch the movie alone first then determine for yourself if you want your son to see it. Just my opinion. By the way.... minimal nudity.... only saw the briefest glimpse of a womans breasts.

Very little sex/nudity. The violence is what earned the rating. I don't know how old your son is, but it's a movie I think you probably should see yourself before deciding if it's appropriate for him to watch.

No sex or nudity really. But I must warn you there are a lot of gore filled scenes including a cut off horses head, people getting shot multiple times, and a spousal abuse scene that actually made me cry when I was 10.

As if spiritual nudity is not enough. Be careful how you react to the violence and wife cheating lest you inadvertently condone something you don't.

Violence, and cursing. Don't remember much whether there was sex. A few hours, a lot of Italian.
