I am 24 years old male. I have been wetting the bed about twice per week for a few weeks now. Yesterday I went to the doctor and he couldn't find a problem. He told me to start wearing diapers. What kind should I get. I wouldn't mind baby diapers or training diapers if they're cheaper. I weigh 120lbs and am 5'6".

I would find a new doctor. They have medications to help you with that sort of problem.

Some of the answers I read here make me think some of these people should be comedians. Forget all the smart remarks and look at this with a level headed approach.

There is nothing wrong with wearing diapers if there is a genuine need for them and it sounds like you have one. There are some doctors out there that don't think we should be throwing medicine at every little thing that bothers us, that's why there are so many medical problems out there these days, we have become immune to what medications can do for us because we take them for every little thing.

It sounds to me that the doctor is taking the right approach. Now to actually answer your question. I'm incontinent and I wear diapers 24 / 7 and I use cloth diapers. The only time I use disposables is when I travel and cloth is not easily maintained.

I don't like disposables because they are very uncomfortable, the store brands are even worse even though they are cheaper, you get what you pay for. The brand names fit better, hold more and just do a better job all around but I prefer cloth. If you are going to have to wear them for any length of time then it is worth the higher up front cost because the cost is cheaper over time than disposables.

Cloth diapers are more comfortable, hold more, leak less and hide just as well under clothing as diposables. You need plastic pants or some sort of waterproof covering for the cloth to keep clothes and sheets dry, but again, they are so much more comfortable.

Good luck.

An adult does not want to wear a diaper. It is not healthy or sanitary, even if it is just for 8 hrs and only urine. I think I would be finding a new dr. Even if it is not a medical condition it could just simply be a side effect of a medication.
Does it ever feel like you have to go and can't? Then later on it just kind of leaks out? This can mean you have a high pressure bladder. Now on the other end of the spectrum, do you feel the urge to urinate and then have to almost instantly go to toilet? this could be a low pressure bladder. In order to find out, you will need to go to an internal medicine dr. He will insert a cathater into the rectum, and one into the penis. (I know this doesn't sound good and it isnt, but you need to find out if it is a medical condition.) He will then inject saline thru the penile cath and monitor how many cc's it takes till you have to go, how u feel etc etc.
good luck

You are NOT a freak nor is there something necessarily wrong with you physically. I would suggest that maybe you have some kind of psychological problem. You might want to consult a psychologist or counselor to help you determine just what the cause is. In the meantime, use any diaper that works for you and reject the rude comments of some people on this site. Good luck!!

Chow!!

I'd recommend a garden house that leads outside but that's just me. I'm no expert but I think you should buy some cranberry juice (100% cranberry, NOT from concentrate). Then drink some of that with some water during the day. Do some experiments like drinking a lot during the day and then not in the evening or drinking 8oz of water 6 times a day (wake-up, breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, 2 hours after dinner). Just try some pattern for a week and see what happens. It will likely make things better or worse and then you can experiment some more. Hmmm, and another thing you can do is set an alarm for the middle of the night and get up and go. Damn, I'm smart.
