No, I think you are just homesick. Just give it a shot, and if you still don't like it, go ahead and leave, its getting too crowded anyway.

I love San Diego (except for the insane housing prices)..but i don't like SoCal that much. And yes i know that sounds weird but i hate the LA metropolitean are with a passion. Way to many people there! San Diego just has a different feel to it. Draw a triangle from Long Beach to Oxnard, and out to San Bernadino, and that part of SoCal sucks.

I don't "hate" San Diego, but am not enthralled with it either. San Diego used to be a great place to live. Lately it is if you aren't rich get the heck out of here type of place. It is dirty, the streets are rut encrusted potholes, the city officials all bicker and fight trying to jockey for position to run for higher office; and no one wants to give anyone else credit for doing the right thing, instead of the popular thing.

They elected a Cop Mayor and then wonder why cops get away with murdering unarmed civilians.

The one remaining beach area that a person can almost afford to live in is in danger of being consumed by the wealthy gentrification addicts who can't stand the thought of a common working stiff being able to live at the beach. And the nazi like Arayan brotherhood have a foothold in the north east county. Gambling is thriving on so called indian reservations ... most of which never saw a native american tribe in over 1000 years; and an outfit that specializes in armed and dangerous mercenary armies wants to take over the east county and turn it into a terrorist training ground.

What's to love?

Obviously you have not been around much. SAN DIEGO IS ONE OF THE BEST CITIES IN THE WORLD!!! I used to hate it too though, when I was young and dumb... I thought there was nothing to do, and I hated the traffic, but you know what... I have been to about 16 states and 9 countries, and San Diego is still my favorite place. Honestly, you dont hate it... you just havent experienced the crappiness of all the other places in the world. Get out more, or just open your mind and think about all the third world countries that are nothing but poverty and states like Louisianna that get thrashed by hurricanes. YOU ARE LUCKY TO LIVE IN A PLACE LIKE SAN DIEGO. Take advantage of all the things there are to do and see, and alll the good food you can eat. I am stuck in Korea right now and The only good food I can get is what I cook, and I have to smell crap every day and there is literally NOTHING to do where I live. BE GRATEFUL!!!

Hate is such a strong word... You dislike it? Don't care for it?

Anyway, I've come across a few who'd rather live somewhere else. Would you rather be in the Midwest or East Coast or South or back in a small town?

There is so much to see and do in San Diego/So Cal. The weather is close to perfect. I live/d in snow, (ND and CO), and the novelty of living in snow wore off quickly. Give me rain any day. No doubt it cost a lot to live in So. Cali, (or Hawaii, or Florida. Even No. Cali in San Fran). It's not the most expensive place to live in the U.S. If it was cheaper, EVERYONE would move to California and its many beautiful cities. But it's the price San Diegans pay to live in such glorious weather and varied landscapes.

But San Diego is not everyone's cup of tea. Luckily, because the other states and its cities need people like you to live there...

Hating is easy done by the weak minded. No area is perfect, but if you don't at least like San Diego, then you probably don't like anywhere. I almost feel sorry for you...
