You can either call his bluff (tell him you don't care who he tells) or tell everyone what the deal is and take the steam out of his threat.

Well, in order for the blackmail to work you have to care about what other people think. Do you think the lawyer representing you will be shocked? Or the judge? I don't think so. Stuff happens, and yes, worse than the story you've told, after all you were probably upset because he is the one that wanted and asked for a break. He can't force you to do anything that you are not ready to do yet, that includes moving out, despite what he says. He works for an insurance company, not a law firm. I wouldn't advise moving out, or vacating the premises, if you hope to keep the house, or at least sell it when the time is right, there are abandonment issues regarding real estate. Consult with your lawyer about your rights regarding the house. He will guide you according to the laws of the state you are in. When it's said and done, get on your own feet financially and be self supporting before getting involved with another man, you are only 21 and have plenty of time. Bringing independence and self reliance into a relationship gives makes for a more stable and lasting one.

You are still his wife. Blackmail is against the law, but people use it all the time to get what they want. Let him tell anyone he wants to tell because it will make him look like the idiot. Most people, when they hear "gossip" just put it down to sour grapes and the "gossiper" ends up looking like a bit of a fool. You have to do what's right for you and the child. You just tell your husband that when the divorce is final and a judgement is made, then you will put the house up for sale, if it is, in fact, what the judge orders. Up until then, you are stayng put. Just an example of what I mean when a gossiper can end up looking like a fool. A husband cheated on his wife. The wife told everyone who would listen....made the husband out to be a real jerk. The people who knew him, understood why he cheated.....even his children, so she came out looking like a real idiot. Dont allow him to blackmail you any further......stay strong.

What can he do ? I would just put the house up and get my part of the money they have to give you time to move you will have a pocket full of money to move on . Just a few moments of pleasure and now you have hell to go threw . You really need to start thinking about the child and what your going to do in the future when its here and don't hesitate to get child support from your boyfriend why should you go threw hell all by your self when he had a part of it.

You'd have to ask your lawyer about it, but you probably will have to put the house up for sale.
Start looking for a place to stay. Maybe your ex will take you and the baby in.

I would take away his power by letting him know that, although you have manifested indiscretion, you are not ashamed of yourself, and he is free to do whatever he wishes to do. Stay put. Don't lose ground just because he is a bully. Yes there is a lot that your lawyer can do. Talk the them and stay put! Who cares what he does? If you do, then-"He who angers you, controls you"

Try reverse psychology. Let him know that you don't care what he tells other people about the details on the divorce because it will only embarrass HIM.
What do you care about what he tell other people? Concentrate on your current situation and grow from your mistakes.
Don't be ashamed of what you did. It happened. Don't cry about it now. Don't let him use your mistakes against you.

If your lawyer is any good, he/she will know what to do. That's why he/she went to law school instead of "Yahoo Answers School."
