No, 9/11 could not have been prevented. At that time in our country, people would not have believed that someone would intentionally fly planes into buildings.

Furthermore, if they had instituted necessary security precautions at the airports, there would have been news crews at every airport doing stories about the long lines people had to wait in to get through security. And if nothing happened, law enforcement would have been chided about creating panic and issuing false warnings.

Even more important, the various intelligence and law enforcement agencies around the country were sometimes prohibited by law from sharing information. These laws were passed by presidents and congresses, long before Bush took office.

If you knew anything about the federal government, you would know that it is not a nimble organization and even if those deficiencies were realized months prior, it would have taken years to get the laws removed or changed to allow law enforcement and intelligence to share data and put the pieces of the puzzle together.

I have seen many people pointing fingers at everyone else saying others were at fault. But ultimately, it is OUR government. It is a product of the people. So when you are looking for someone to blame, look in the mirror, look at everyone you see everyday. WE are all to blame for 9/11. We routinely put the handcuffs on our law enforcement and intelligence agencies, because we want to ensure fairness and equality for all. And I am not saying that is a bad thing. But in trying to be fair to everyone, things like this will happen. And they will continue to happen until WE decide to make a change. And unfortunately, we are nowhere near that right now.

Osama never made specific threat like that. He promised big attack. He didn't exactly said what it is. Memo that warn Bush said 'Osama bin Laden determined to attack USA.'

Where? What? When? How?

CIA never had any details. That's pretty much all CIA knew. They didn't know al Qaeda planned plane crash into WTC.

And Bush was in office less than 1 year when 9/11 struck. That's not whole lot of time to track terrorists down. When we lacked intelligence agents fluent enough in Arab culture to infiltrate these terror rings.

This is like someone blaming you for company you work for going bankrupt. When you've been working there for few weeks.

What would you do if someone warned you, 'a criminal wants to hurt you.' You could go buy a machine gun, but they can still hide in your car, bedroom, pretend to be babysitter, hide bombs in your car...etc. They got million possibilities.

It's fair to say that the system failed, but its very unfair to blame it all on Bush.

First off Clintion had terrorism during his presidency, but he was to busy being a pimp. Here's a walk down memory lane of terrorits attacks during the CLINTON SCANDAL YEARS.

1. 1993 Bombing of the World Center, What did big pimp do? Nothing

1993 Clinton fires 93 U.S Attorneys some of the attroney's fired were probing Dems in scandal, and Bush get attacked on firing 8.

1996 Khobar Towers, 19 Airman Dead 300 wounded, what did big pimp do? nothing

1998 2 U.S. Embassy bombings in Africa, What did big pimp do? Nothing

1998 Attacked Iraq Facilities that were supposed to have had WMD, CWMD. Same intell Bush and the U.N. Hd

1998 Sudan offered Bin Laden on a silver platter to us, Big Wille was dealing with Monica and according to Liberals and Bill Mahr it's ok to cheat on your wife. So, Clinton said he wasn't a threat.

1998 Treaty with North Korea to stop building Nukes. Was suppose to be he his landmark. All along right under his nose the North Koreans did what they want and continue to do what they want.

2000 U.S.S. Cole what did clinton do nothing.

2001 9-11 it took 6 to 8 years to plan and train, and organize 9-11, who was president during 99% of that time BIG Pimp Bill Clinton.

Is that enough examples or terrorism on Bill's watch?

Now all you left wing liberals are gonna attack me and attack Bush, but let's face it the Clinton presidency was all about scandal, WHITEWATER, Jennifer Flowers, Monica, yeah let's bring back another like that. Just what we need scandal and wife cheaters sets a great example.

Yeah, If CLINTON would have taken Bin Laden when the Saudi's had him in custody, it would've done it...

But no, we was too involved with things in the oval office.

Yeah, your politics are WAY screwed up. Don't just pin 9/11 on Bush...you liberals can't take any blame for yourselves, you have to pin it on the Republicans who have to unscrew the problems you make...(just look at the example above)

At least Bush did something about terrorism:

Clinton ignored the first bombing of the WTC
Clinton ignored the first embassy bombing in Africa
Clinton ignored the second embassy bombing in Africa

Why didn't you liberals say anything then? Oh yeah, you all think terrorists aren't real.

Maybe if Clinton had not put contract workers in the CIA
with annual contracts (talk about homeland security)

and Did not allow the FBI and CIA to share information

And missed the 10 times to take Osama out *************

the grounds for 911 started way before Bush

Yes I do, because our president had received information that told him something like this was going to happen long before 9-11.

We knew there have been threats, heck we knew Al Qaeda had to attack us for 10 years. however the only way it ought to have been prevented is that if we had long gone on the offensive against the terrorists interior the years maximum well called much as 2001. the possibility in that, of direction, is we'd have alienated the full Arab international. i think you should declare greater particular intelligence could have helped, however the terrorists weren't approximately to initiate blabbing their plans to us.

It took a long time to plan 9/11, it did not just happen overnight.

first of all, you're a moron. not because of your political views but because you have terrible grammar.
second of all sure it could have been prevented. we could have not invented the airplane or built the twin towers. or we could have nuked everything in the middle east!
