i do think vince young is a good quarterback for a first year player....on the same level as the others.....but come on the most under looked person was mcneil the tackle from the chargers that LT ran behind all year. He should have easily won rookie of the year!!!!

Vince Young is a good QB, yeah, I think he'll be great in time. BUT......Marques Colston deserve to have the honor more than any other rookie. A 7th round pick showed up the 2nd overall pick on the same team and nobody cares because he was a WR right? Because the league is biased to QBs and RBs....Think about it...Joe Horn got hurt and New Orleans doesn't have that great of receivers, without Colston, I wonder how it would have affected their passing attack....Colston was definately the most valuable.

I like who you said too..Marcus McNiel gave up NO sacks, am I right? Even still, he never gave up on LT when he was going that way...I think there should have been a strong case for him too.

Vince Young was the correct choice for Rookie of the Year. Name a rookie who had a bigger impact on their team then Vince Young. Reggie Bush? Drew Brees almost broke some records and Marques Colston was the best rookie on that team last year. Offensive Lineman, as important as they are, especially at the tackle position, won't win big awards because the NFL wants to market their stars. And if that lineman didn't have LT running behind, he wouldn't look as good. Don't get me wrong, he did a great job, but honestly, it's Ladanian Tomilinson running the ball. Matt Leinart put up some nice numbers but it was not enough. Vince Young personally won football games last year for the Tennessee Titans, not one of these other guys can say that.

Vince Young was overly-hyped, resulting in the award. Yes he went 8-5 as a starter, all he did was run!!! anyone remember how badly he played in the Giants game? he was the whole reason they were down 21-0 because of his poor decision making. It took an unforgettable meltdown by NY to lose the game. Against the Ravens, he let a 26-0 lead completely dissapear, never putting up another point when Baltimore won 27-26. Against the Jaguars, he failed to lead his offense to 100 yards or any points at all. The only reason he won was because Jeff Fisher was smart enough to know that Young was stupid enough that he couldnt read coverages, and allowed Norm Chow to revive the Shotgun Option, allowing him to run.

I agree that Marcus McNeil should have AT LEAST been mentioned for that honor. For a second round pick to start at Left Tackle, the second most important position on offense aside from QB, and play flawlessly was a true amazement. He along with Maurice Jones-Drew, A.J. Hawk, Dwan Landry and Marques Colston should have been the top 5 nominees for R.O.Y.

There's almost always a rookie offensive lineman who outplays the QB, RB, or WR who wins the rookie of the year award. There just aren't reliable stats to track o-linemen, and the fact is, blockers don't attract fans. Logan Mankins was the Patriots' best lineman his rookie year (Light and a couple of other guys were injured), but Cadillac Williams won it despite injuries and a very mediocre finish to the season.

VY almost single-handedly won 3 or 4 games for Tennessee in the 4th quarter, and he was hot when the voting took place. Those kinds of things become significant factors when deciding the RotY award.

What about Colston. He was a seventh round pick and look what he did. If he didnt get injuried he probably would have ran away with it. I like how you picked the tackle from the Chargers but what about Jahri Evans. He is the Saints guard. Everyone thought the Saints o-line was going to be terrible including myself but they werent. He helped protect Brees to throw for over 4,000 yards.

It was a good and the right choice. Vince put up ok number, all that matters is that he led his team to an 8-8 record, better than any other rookie.

he won games all by himself. Matt leinart went 5-11. Reggie bush had a lot of help on the saints. if they would've started him from the beginning the titans would've went 10-6 or even 11-5.

if marcus colston didn't get injured, he'd be the clear cut favorite. next in line would be maurice jones drew. I thought vince young was third ... maybe even fourth behind mcneil.
