Yes. Have it X-rayed. In the meantime keep your foot elevated. Cold compresses 20min on 20 off. You can tape your bad toe the adjacent toe. Sometimes a removable walking cast or shoe is indicated to keep weight off your toe while it is healing.

The only way to be a hundred sure would be to get an X-Ray. A good way to guess you have a possible broken toe is it is swollen, possibly misshaped and cannot move. Plus you may have heard a cracking sound when it got broke. As I said the only way that you can be is 100 percent sure is to get an X-ray.

Ignore the cyber badazzes who give you that whole bit about they just ducttaped it back up and got on their harley or what ever crock of **** they spew. This is why you pay for health insurance. If you don't have any get some.

If it's black and blue, then likely you broke it. Go see your nearest podiatrist for a x-ray. If it is broken, you'll likely get a small fracture shoe and the doctor will teach you how to buddy splint the injured toe to the adjacent toe. That's the key - fracture shoe with buddy splinting and within 3 weeks your toe will feel a lot better.

When I broke my thumb it turned black after about an hour, so a toe might too. Also, tylenol, motrin, etc won't really touch the pain and it will swell, movement is difficult.
Good luck!

Well...is it swollen? Bruised? Painful to move? If you can't stand on it or it hurst to bend it tehn it is possibly broken.

can't put any weight on it - it WILL tell you that!

then you go to get an x-ray - that will confirm it
