And I shall note this for future references to anyone who thinks teachers are just things...or it's immature to give presents to teachers....

I hate it when...people thinks teachers are just things. And all there use is takeing up students times. Teachers are not things to be played with. There actually human beings! Why can't you people accept that? You call me immature for trying to give a gift to the special educators that helped me out. Is it really that immature? WEll...at least i'm not inappropriate during class. AT LEAST I CARE! Students that care are so rare to teachers....I mean there are so many students that can be completly blinded by the fact that the teachers probebly have a hard life that they delt with. Everyone has problems, that's what makes them humans. There's been so many people that helped me out.

I am a 17 year old girl going to be a senior. IS it really that immature to say that a teacher helped me out to be the person I am? Is it really that bad to give them a gift in recongnizing(sp?) the many things they do for us....I say this...maybe....for once you should look into a teacher's eyes and relize they are human.

I don't get it.. Why all that anger and in such a nasty language? I don't get it at all! I 've read some answers and I don't know what's going on in their minds. That's America? No wonder the whole world thinks you are idiots.. that's the impression you give.
I thought that I had met all grades of stupidity in my life - through drug abuse, prison.. well here comes life to teach me a lesson once more : "It 's more than you think!"
Especially one answered " your there to learn not suck the teachers c ** k !" (a girl !) . Hasn't she noticed the "her" in your question?? Not mention the "your" for " you 're" (I am Greek)
And HOW ON EARTH are you supposed to learn when you don't establish a relationship with your teacher?? How do you COMMUNICATE - not just listen, but fully understanding.
Nevetheless, I 'd like to share this with you, because there ARE other points of view in that matter. In my opinion, to be a teacher is not a profession, is a mission. A good teacher can take the best out of you. Can inspire one to do great things. It is because of the importance of treating young children and teens at their beginnig, making better people out of them. Because education is not only a-x=b or which adjective to use. It 's to make us better people in all aspects of life, to improve our level of culture in genera, to inspire high ideals..
I 'm 31 , I 've been through many adventures, and I am still in touch with some of my teachers. Not teacher-student any more, but HUMAN BEINGS.
So keep that in mind, you 're not alone, and forget all the narrow-minded morons.

You spend like a very mature 17 year old. It is not often teachers influence students. All these people from your last Q are completely immature. A teacher can really have a lasting influence on students. After all, that is what they are here for. I'm sure your teacher friend will really appreciate your gift as a poem knowing she had a lasting impression on you.

I just read the answers from your last question those girls were so mean. That just goes to show you how your typical plastic high school girls are so in vain immature and closed minded.

It's not often that teachers get some sort of recognition from their students. Usually students are too embarrassed (or immature?) to think of thanking their teachers for what they have been taught.
Every time a student has thanked me, even with just a few words, I was touched. So just let these people be, and be yourself and continue to be sincere and kind.

I just read some of the answers to your last question and reported 2 of them, which I've never done. I'm surprised at the comments, all I can say is they are obviously lacking love in their life. What is that saying...oh yeah, misery loves company!!!

I'd give you a great poem but I suck at it. Just remember, the teacher will get the exact same feeling no matter what you write. It really is the thought that counts.

It's not question of maturity. People should realize that it's okay to be creative at any age. And that personal creative gifts are the best types of gifts to give. All of those people, who wrote negative answers are what I like to call bottom-feeders. They lack creativity and the ability to express themselves, that they only feel superior when they hurt others so they can try to bring those good people to their level, which is the bottom.....therefore, they are bottom-feeders. A.K.A. The lowest form of life this world has to offer.

P.S. YOU KEEP WRITING POETRY, AND APPRECIATING WHAT OUR TEACHERS DO FOR US. Don't let those BOTTOM-FEEDERS get you down.

Semper Fi,
Mikey

Creating a teacher poem? Create a seperate poem for each teacher (professor). Brainstorm each teachers' strength, weakness, career, and most important... "meaning" for you and your growth. Poets suffer for their art. Suggested general topic for all your poems could be... the geometric principle. You were touched by these professors.

Now how will you use their "touch" to touch another person?
