Chloe: of course we left - handed people are more intelligent that the other people. Who says there is no evidence of that? Not only we are more intelligent but more eloquent that our right-handed counterparts. In tests conducted by Dr. Alan Searleman from St Lawrence University in New York, he found that left-handers can be considerably more intellectually gifted. There were more left-handed people with IQs over 140 than right-handed people - which is the "genius" bracket. This is perhaps why there are more "lefties" in creative professions - such as music, art and writing - and more left-handed astronauts and leaders than would be expected.
Check the results published at MENSA, the society for people with high IQs (Intelligence Quotient, showing tested intellingence relative to the normal level of 100 - you need to have a tested IQ of over 140 to join MENSA). Of course, most of the members are left handed. Visit their website at: www.mensa.org.uk

left handed people are the ONLY ones in the RIGHT frame of mind :) hehe.
We use different parts of the brain than right handed people. I wouldn't say we're smarter we just think differently is all. Everyone is wired different, some are good at math, others philosophy etc. I think its adds to the great variety /spice of life :) We can learn from each other.

Almost all right handed people use left side of the brain, and majority of left handed also use left side of the brain.
So, I believe, all that matters is, how u hold urself not how u hold the pen or the fork.

I'm not quite sure about the claim that MOST members of Mensa are left handed:
"There is simply no one prevailing characteristic of Mensa members other than high IQ."
"The word "Mensa" means "table" in Latin. The name stands for a round-table society, where race, color, creed, national origin, age, politics, educational or social background are irrelevant."
- both quotes from their website....
Left-handed people are sinister, though:

I am not sure that average IQ's of left handed people are significantly greater that of right handed people....... But left handed people are in their RIGHT mind....(because of crossing over of neural impulses)

There is no truth in this but we know that when we are using left side of our body, we are using right side of the brain and vice versa. So if there is any truth in your hypotheses, then because they are using their right side of the brain so the left side is left to do the thinking!!

Who said they are?!
But if it is proved, is there something about left handers thinking differently? Like right handers think with the right side of the brain which is primarly maths, logic, wording etc? And the left is pictures and stuff, and that left handers can remember these better, and like take mental pictures of the other things?
