I stopped taking depo 9 months ago because of the nasty side effects. I just now started getting a cycle again. The ony problem is that when I have sex with my fiance it is kinda painful like the skin in my vagina was rubbed raw. I went to the doctor a month ago and she said I have no signs of infection whatsoever. Does anyone know if depo can cause painful vaginal intercourse?

I've been on depo for several years, and this was never a symptom. Painful intercourse can be caused by a uterine infection (these are more common than you think, you might want to get a second opinion), endometriosis, Intersystal cytosis (not really sure how to spell it), or other reproductive/bladder problems.

You aren't the only one that was on depo and has had this affect. It could be the depo.

The doctor should have helped you more instead of saying there is no infection.

I think your doctor should have addressed this question, however, use water based jell for lubrication and you'll just be ok. Enjoy.
