The knight in shining armour is a bit like a super hero really...he comes galloping up on his white horse and takes you away from all your misery.....yeah yeah!...All a dream eh? but it gives a hope for the future.........What about the film "An Officer and a Gentleman"...when Richard Gere arrives at the factory and lifts Debbie Winger into his arms to carry her out....that actually played on the Knight in Shining armour thing.
Best wishes, Mike./

Knights in shining armour do still exist, we just don't wear armour - the only place you see armour with the modern man is around his heart. For many of us though there still exists a code of chivalry.

My knight in shining armour is and always will be my hubby. He is the best thing that ever happened to me, turned my life around. Your knight doesn't have to ride into your life on a horse does he?! :-)

I think unconsciously we all want a hero to rescue us from our predicaments in life, as in doing so we don't have to take responsibility for making our own choices.
Once he's found us, will that cause us to live happily every after? I don't think so, just dependant.
Come on, girls, let's rewrite the fairy tales.
