Oh amen on the stupid strapless bra. Never again. I either am going to let it all hang out or just look like a redneck and let the bra straps show. Seriously....... strapless bras suck!!!

OHHHHH...... and I just remembered. Do you guys remember years ago when they came out with the Epilady? It was a hair removal system. They advertised it as "just as easy as shaving, but the hair doesn't grow back for weeks." Sounded perfect! So I bought one. What they didn't tell you is that the principle is that there is a coil that grabs the hair and then YANKS it from the root. GOD...... it hurt like crap! I think I got like one little strip of my leg done and I had to call it quits. It was sooooo totally NOT worth it. (sorry guys...... I go thru no pain for smooth legs! ) lol

Fun question!!

Actually, I prefer strapless bras- I hate always having to pull up a falling bra strap! But heels, I agree completely with you there. The more comfortable, the better. I always wear some form of Mary Janes. But the worst thing I ever did to myself to look good was to (this was truly stupid) starve myself for a year- and I was exercising and walking like crazy. I would have black coffee for breakfast and a diet bar, Diet Coke for lunch, and when I came home from work, a bowl of either tomato or chicken noodle soup, or broth, and exactly 10 saltine crackers. I lost a bunch of weight but my body rebelled- I broke out in acne all over my back, and I looked gaunt. I'm 5'9" and I got down to 112 lbs. (I'm 140 now, and I think that's too heavy. I need to change my mindset.) As for clothing, I once tried a corset- talk about a nightmare- I don't know how Scarlett O'Hara did it!

My nose was broken when I was 11 but no measures were taken and it didn't heal well. As I grew up it looked slightly crooked and I was quite unhappy although it wasn't really bad. When I turned 20, I went to a specialist and it turned out that I could have an operation for free as my nose had healed terribly inside and I was bound to have serious health problems.
Well, the local anesthetic didn't work at all and I was fully conscious during the three hours when my nose was broken again and fixed. It was indescribably painful. I was writhing in pain trying in vain to stop the convulsions, blood was dripping down my throat all the time. Doctors told me that they won't stop until it was finished and so they did. They told me I was a hero in the end. OK.
It took a few months for my nose to heal.
I am pretty happy with the result now but had I known what it would be like I would never have gone through this.

I'm reading the other's answers: wax, high heels, working out, etc - lol
:)

I get Brazilians regularly.

But the absolute worst was when I was wearing new pair of Michael Kors shoes my mom had just gotten me to the mall with my boyfriend, and I had one blister on each foot... one of which was the size of a dime on the bottom of my foot, so each time I took a step I applied pressure on it. He kept telling me to just walk barefoot... I said I'd do no such thing. We were done shopping and just had to go to the car, but that was so far away. I wanted to cry. We went to dinner and then I looked at my feet and they were terrible.

That was 3 weeks ago, and the dime-sized blister is nearly completely healed up and gone.

Worst shoe experience ever. And the shoes are so pretty! The should come with a warning label!

yes, heels and plucking my eyebrows.

my strapless bra never hurt me, it just kept sliding down.

oh, and cross country. try running 5 miles after a relaxing summer and then getting out of bed the next day. i looked good after all the work, but it hurt to get there. ;)

Nothing. Well I did use to wear pantyhose when I was little, but no to look good. I didn't like them so I stopped wearing them. Or I guess you could include the very minor burns I've gotten from straightening my hair, but they barley hurt.

EDIT: I had a pallet expander, then braces, and then a retainer. Yea that hurt.
I guess when I think about it I have gone through pain to look good. Interesting.

heels, stilettos. uncomfortable strapless bras. One time my mom highlighted my hair with this cap and plastic needle. The needle left basically puncture wounds in my scalp. soo painful. also, my braces ended up making my teeth look good...but damn were they painful.

I've got this pair of heels that, if I stand or walk in them for too long, make me want to cry from the pain......but of course I wear them anyway, cause they look so good on me! : P
