Most pet stores and even Walmart carries what is called fry food. It is a liquid form food you squirt into the tank/bowl.
If nothing else, when feeding flake food, grind it up very small in your hand (almost to powder form) before you feed it to the fish. This should help.

They have food for fry that's smaller. You may have to ask around. Water flea are good for young fish, and they are small. BTW flake food is cheap food. I wouldn't feed flakes to any fish.

I would suggest you use baby brine shrimp or daphnia to feed your little betta. It will do far better on those foods than on flake food at it's age.

Put some food between some kind of paper, like wax paper and smash it with the back of a spoon. Or you can can buy packages of 'baby fish' food.

soften the pellets for like 10 minutes in some water and then mash it up with your finger nails or a pocket knife or something.
