Sounds nice to me . . . very thoughtful. I would have loved it. =)
Maybe she's just not the girl for you. It sounds like you'd like a sweet and simple kind of girl. A girl who, like you, can appreciate the fact that you don't have to spend a ton of money to have a genuinely good time. It's not about the money you spend, but the quality of the time that you're together. You sound like a sweetheart.
Keep looking. I'm sure she's out there.
Good luck! =)

Maybe you're picking the wrong women to date.
Are you going for women who don't like nature? Aren't into anything that doesn't resemble a shopping mall? Are more concerned with perfect hair and makeup than stopping to smell the roses..ah..wildflowers?
On the bright side, if the "material girl" isn't what you wanted, you aren't out the cost of the expensive restaurant and roses.

if you're gonna keep my company all day and drive me far away from my friends and family, make an effort to make me as happy and comfortable as possible. yes, you should have found a nice restaurant along your route to stop in and dine your date. it would have put the date over the top!!
--mind you, with a long-term relationship, i'd love to go for a drive and pick wildflowers. but with a new guy, it's completely different. you are in the 'show me' phase. :) good luck!

Well, it matters who you are dating and how long you have been dating her. If you have been dating for a long time, a drive through the country side is perfect. If you haven't been dating her for a long time she probley wants you to impress her and if you take her on a drive she will think you are cheap. If you have been dating her for a long time and she doesn't like a drive, she is spoiled and should get a reality check. Hope that helps!

that sounds like a great date to me. roses & expensive restaurants are nice, but you can't do that every time you go out. a lot of it depends on the girl, too - you can always ask her for suggestions and if she wants you to spend a lot of money all the time, look for someone else.

There are lots of ladies who would love to go for a romantic drive and have a picnic in the country... There are also lots of ladies who want roses and expensive restaurants.... just let them know in advance which date so they can dress accordingly.. Have fun . x

A country drive sounds like a wonderful date. Any woman who judges a good time by the amount of money spent should be avoided. She's superficial and extreme.

Your date's got issues if she is measuring her worth based on some dollar figure. Yes, m'dear, there are women who would enjoy and feel valued on a date such as you described.
I'd find someone new to spend my time with, were I you. You sound wonderful. Don't jump through hoops for women such as she. (*grin* Just a thought: Maybe she didn't factor in the price of gasoline!)
Best wishes... hope the next woman you find appreciates you for you!

The date probably didn't have the same feelings for you and probably wasn't satisfied with anything.
When this happens again, tell your date you are not feeling well, and take them home. Apologize later that things didn't work out and let them know it was nice knowing you.
Leave room for someone who appreciates your hospitality more. Nothing ventured, nothing gained should be your motto.
