Brought it yesterday drove it around a bit this morning. Locked the doors but set off the alarm when I got back into it. Now no amount of clicking on and off or trying to jump start or tinkering will ever get the damb thing to start. Can any owner/previous owner help me? No stupid answers please I really need help people!!

we had the same trouble with the one my dad bought for my brother a week ago, we got it home then it wouldnt start as the alarm wouldnt go off with the key fob, in the end he had to get the AA to tow him to a garage who sorted it overnight but cost him £60, or maybe try a new battery? we did that first but no luck.Strangely i had the same problem with my rover 214si for 2 months it kept doing this and now its okay again, so must be a rover fault.

Unlock it with the remote button, rather than with the key in the door - this disarms both the alarm and the immobiliser..
You then have so many seconds to start the engine before the immobiliser re-engages.
Opening the door with the key does not disarm either alarm or immobiliser.
You can tell when the immobiliser is engaged by the red flashing light on the dashboard.
There is a method to disengage the immobiliser by entering a code using the key in the driver's door - you'll need to find the card with the code, and read the instruction manual.

umm i really really like green day. i think there awesome. there early work is much better than there new stuff. i think theres always a chance for green day a to regain there former glory, just cause they are a good band who used to make awesome music. there good stuff is good but as you said they do seem like some ***** *** gay emo pop band because of all the make up they ware and **** like that. when they made there best music they wore like jeans and t-shirts. it would be like if kurt cobain were still alive and nirvana came out with a new album and instead of jeans and flannel they he was wearing a tuxedo and had shaved his head. the album might be decent but nobody will like it cause he looks like a little *****.

Try pulling the battery cables off for a couple minutes,then reset entry key fob

my girlfriend has a 100 with alarm thing, tiz sh1t, it runs through to the starter motor, disconnect it.
be quick though, the rate at which a metro rots is unbelievable.

I'm afraid I don't know how to fix it but when you do, sell the car. I have a rover and it's been nothing but trouble.
Seriously, get rid of it!!!
