This is quite common with unneutered rabbits. Obviously the first step is to get it neutered then go to a rescue to get it a neutered mate. Although this will stop the frantic mating behaviour, the mounting by either a male or female is still quite common as this is a sign of dominance rather than sexual behaviour. Both sexes will mount each other to determine who is the boss in their relationship and it is repeated every time the other steps out of place. So it's nothing to be alarmed at, but maybe in the meantime when you go to stroke the animal, put your hand in the hutch/run high enough so it cannot attempt to mount you. But really get it neutered. If it is a male it will take a few days for the hormones to calm down as they experience a surge of hormones and for females a few weeks, but in both cases they may temporarily get slightly more aggressive during these surges before calming down. Good luck.

Have the rabbit speyed or castrated depending on sex :) female rabbits can become quite agressive if not speyed and neutering them is of benefit to their health as it prevents cancer of the reproductive systems. Male rabbits do seem to go through a very horny adolesant stage but it will calm down. Still definately advisable to have the rabbit neutered. Buying a friend and letting them mate is not a good idea ;)

I have a male rabbit who was doing this all the time. I gave him an old teddy and now he leaves me alone. It can be a bit embarrassing when you have people round in the garden in summer and the rabbit is bonking a teddy, but its easier and cheaper than getting him fixed and the rabbit is MUCH happier!

Wear latex gloves,non-powdered.when the rabbits fur comes into contact with the glove it pulls on the fur and irritates the rabbit.

You cant stop him from doing this. He get's excited when he see's you. My rabbits do it. dont take him vets to get the snip as not all rabbits wake up or recover after being put to sleep. just move your hand away everytime he does it, he will stop soon.
