I have a dell xps 400 and I need to change the power supply. I am looking at the antec neo he 550. It appears to have all the connectors I need, and the dimensions, while not exactly the same as the current psu, will fit in the case. Is there anything else? I don't understand the at/atx thing or whatever else.

Hi. The at and atx designations are format standards so motherboard, power supplies, etc will fit together. I my opinion a larger than necessary power supply is a good thing because it just loafs along. Mine is a 550 watt and it runs cool.

As long as you have not left this continent the power supply is compatible. If you go to Europe you will need to get an adapter.

As long as it the same connectors, and the same or more wattage and fits into your case, it's all good.
