Who do you think were the most preferred for comedy ?

I think the marx Brothers had more intelligent comedy . I loved the stooges as a kid but now I look at it and wonder if was dropped on my head as a child !

The Marx Brothers were a different type of comedy than The Three Stooges...The Marx Brothers were a more intelligent comedy.
The Marx Brothers were funnier...but The Three Stooges were the best with Shemp Howard...one of the funniest men who ever lived!

i'd say the Stooges. The Marx Bros. best stuff became of their earlier videos. The Stooges have been large till finally Shemp died. of direction the key ingredient is the writing. The Stooges had an identical team of writers for many of their occupation.

Well the three stooges got there giggles from smacking , gouging and over all injury. The Marx bros's jokes on the other hand use words and other devices to tickle our funny bone.
Over all Marx bros had more talent and not just in comedy, all four where accomplished musicians. Yes all four! Grouch, Chico, Harpo and Zepio.

The Marx Brothers were much funnier. Both get boring by the middle of the movie however. Laurel and Hardy were funnier than either.
added: The Marx brothers were Grouch, Chico, Harpo, Zeppo and Gummo, but the first three are the best remembered.

the stooges could not have pulled off Night at the opera......The cabin scene with the shipping trunk and the eggs was the best..........I'm voting Marx brothers.......all 4 of them
