Take a look at the part number of the one you picked up again. It is a possibility you could have picked up the wrong one by accident. I have done it myself, it is easy to do. According to my books for Fram air filters, (which is the ones Wal-Mart usually sells around here anyway) it is a Fram Extra LIfe, CA8997, or Fram's Tough Guard air filter, TGA8997. That year model was fitted only with a 3.0L with a few minor variations. ( 12 valve SOHC, 24 valve DOHC, and flex fuel ), but they all take the same size air filter. If u did get the wrong one, Wal-Mart should let you exchange it with no problem

if you,ll look on the chart they have there on filters it will give you the right part number then all you do is get it off the shelf,you must have picked up the wrong one by mistake, don't worry though they,ll exchange it with you ,with no problems,good luck with it,hope this helps.

Check with parts store, they will be able to find the right one and give it to you.

they have several different motors available in that year you might have gotten the wrong motor size try again
