exactly like that. Is marriage something that's been talked about before? My sister and her fella have been together a while, have a house but no plans to marry yet although they are exclusive and you don't have to be married to 'prove' your commitment to each other anyway. You probably prove your commitment a lot better than some married couples anyway!

Honestly. Are you at least thinking about marriage though? Because if marriage is something that they are thinking about BUT you have completely cut off that idea, then I think that it is unfair and unrealistic for you to dangle them on a string and make them wait for something that will never come. On the other hand, if you have your reasons for waiting but are thinking about it, then present your reasons honestly and carefully and maybe they will agree. Whatever you decide present it with as much love and consideration as possible. Best wishes and take care.

How about just like you said here? That sounds pretty good to me. Or.... I love you, I can't ever see myself without you, I can't see myself with anyone but you, but I'm just not ready for marriage.
