Has anyone read the Wicked by Gregory Maguire?

Question

I am a love of fantasy and fiction. I am waiting to pick the book from the library and in the mean time just wanted to no if you read it what some of you thought about it?

I have. I loved it. It was detailed and intense, starting from before her birth to her death. It is well worth the read. He has a few other good ones - Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister and Mirror, Mirror. But Son of the Witch and Lost isn't that good.

I'm reading it now and enjoying most of it. Have hit an odd spot that I don't quite get (nearly 3/4 thru), so should spend some more time with it. Have to say though, after studying Oz in my college history class I notice a great deal more of the symbolisms and such; but that also sort of spoils it!

i definitely liked the book. the first two chapters were a struggle to get interested in but once i started it i really enjoyed reading. i think i read the whole thing in a weekend. i have not been able to get into any of his other books, probably because i haven't tried hard enough.
you will never look at the wizard of oz the same again.

I hated is as I was reading it, but once I finished it & pondered it, I ended up liking it. It is quite bizarre in a lot of ways. Very political. Maybe this is what I didn't like!!! It is good though I enjoyed Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, much, much more. It has a lot of discussions about art which I love.

WICKED is an excellent book that will change forever the way you feel about the iconic "Wizard of Oz." Clever and well-written. I recommend it.

It is very good!!! If you have read (or seen) the Wizard of Oz then you will find Wicked very clever, and you will see that it is!
