Say they used a fake ID.Statatory rape does not require intent like theft and other crimes all what matters is the age of the defendent and age of the victim.I feel the law is not fair he/she could be charged or prosecuted because he/she lyed about there age and used a fake ID.I think if they did not know and have intent they sholdnt be charged with the crime but if they knew and had the intent to have sex with an under aged person they deserve to be punished other whise let them go free.Does any one agree with me?Dont talk about it legal only talk about it moraly or ethical coz im sick of people telling me the law when i know it.

Enjoy the cell.

There is an age frame when this is applicable. The rush to sex overlooks ways of determining age without necessarily having to deal with false information and fake ID.

A person's knowledge of cultural and historical events will likely reveal their true age. It isn't a guarantee, but it is an additional way to test the veracity of someone's claim.

Essentially, you know the law. It is your obligation to follow it.

Hopefuly you would get to know the person better before doing the act of making love to them. And hopefuly you would know them well enoth to be able to tell if they are of age. But yes I see your point a person could be tricked into having sex with someone whos not of age but looks / acts it and then go to jail for a crime they didnt think they were committing. I think the main reason why this law is like this is because everyone under the sun who happend to have sex with an under aged person and got caught would use the defence that they tricked them. Thus maybe this law is set up the right way idk. IT however does leave room for abuse and an effectly innocent person could go to jail. Such is our legal system imo.

Well, let's see...have you heard the news about Akon getting dirty with that 14 year old at the concert? She lied about her age because it was supposed to be a 18+ concert.

Alright, referring to what Akon did, it's a degrading thing to do when you are doing something like what he did in front of his fans. Morally, it's just wrong to have sex with someone you just met. If we were to point fingers, it would most likely be the person who lied, because well, lying to go against the law is wrong...morally.

Yeah yeah, that's what they all say. "But she said she was 18!!" Mmhmmm...I'm really sure he made her show ID before fcking her..

Either way, ignorance does not absolve someone's accountability, whether it's ignorance of the law or in your case of her true age.

That being said, I believe the age of consent is too high.

I believe Canada is right on with their standard of 14 as the age of consent.

Personally I prefer mature, over 30 years old, small women, 5'2" or less, for love interest. I can identify one with their "lined face" [kids tend to have too 'smooth' skin"]. I also demand mature talk. I can't tolerate "kids' talk". and that's easy to find out dealing with kids and adults, and see their differences. So I don't have the problem. Anyway, I dislike kids..

I agree 100%. If someone shows you an ID that they are an adult, that should be it.

I agree with Guru. I think you're trying to shirk your responsibility. You are the adult, behave like one.
