Even though Ronald McDonald is still around, he just doesn't appeal to people anymore. More and more children are being sucked in by violence and racism. I used to love seeing old Ronald McDonald, but when my little cousins were introduced to this fast-food mascot, they were barely interested. They were more interested in the toys they could get and the play place. Now even the play place is gone. As more generations come along, we will probably lose such classics as the KFC Man and Captain Crunch! So, the main reason is that the appeal of a tall, mildly skinny man with red hair has almost altogether disappeared.

Ronald's still around; you're just not watching the right network! He's on Nick a lot. He's very athletic now, roller blading, skateboarding, and skiing now. I think the Hamburgler got a life sentence, though. I haven't seen him in years!

I still see good ole Ronnie. He is on all of the kid's networks now, like Nickelodeon , etc. Everytime I see him he is dancing or playing sprts or doing something. I guess Mickey D's is now trying to teach kids to get up off of their lazy butts and play like we used to when we were kids. I do miss the funny, zany Ronald though. When I was a kid, all of the characters used to be on everything. There was Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese, Grimace and the Fry Guys. I think Early Bird was the WORST character though. Oh well, people my age are starting to rule the commercial airwaves, so maybe someday we can all dare to dream that we will see all our favorite characters again. LOL!

You don't see him as much as you did in the past because Mc Donalds is trying to brand its self more towards African Americans and target the inner cities.

Im not trying to be racest or anything, but have you looked at the bags lately? They got pictures of African American people on the bags, African Americans in their commercials and are trying to make the whole place seem more hip hop.

What ever happend to food folks and fun?

I guess the ads were no longer as effective and McDs took a lot of flak for targetting children in their ads, Now it's probably more effective to just sucker them in with toys in the happy meals.
