It's as bad as the phrase that stars with; "I don't mean to be mean, but..."

Despise it.

No the most annoying overused phrase is
"Did i say that right?"

sure it is
its like as if u don't know someone is not being funny
especially for those who keep on saying it
and thats when they start getting silly instead of serious
but sometimes it necessary to say the phrase

Yes that and the phrase "with all due respect" you know whats going to follow isn't going to be complimentary.

A friend of mine uses it almost every sentence, and it drives me mad!

People that say 'I'm not being funny' generally are though, that's the really silly thing about it!

I can think of a lot more that I would place above that. My particular favourite is "Having said that..." which means that having said one thing, they are now going to say the complete opposite.

Another cracker is - "With all due respect", when you know the person saying it has no respect whatsoever for your opinion.
