I think it depends on "whathanded" you are. For instance, I'm right-handed and cross right over left. I can cross left over right, but it doesn't feel as comfortable.
Same thing with crossing my arms. Except in that case, my "top arm" has to be my left and not my right.

No mine don't do that. I am more comfortable with my left leg crossed. Sitting that way now. That is why I noticed. Both legs feel the same when I cross them

Most all orthopedic doctors will tell women it is not healthy for them to cross their legs. Crossing your legs makes you sit unevenly, and when you sit unevenly it puts pressure on your back and hip joints. It may not be painful when you are younger but it will later in life. As women get older and osteoporosis begins it can cause stress fractures in the head of the femur. But, osteoporosis is not just found in older women, it can affect younger women as well. Not crossing your legs is a very hard thing to learn or force yourself not to do.

I hate crossing my legs. I really want to go to modeling school to learn how to be a girl. I think that women should just tuck one leg behind the other. Much easier and comfortable.
