You deleted the sound card driver when you installed XP. After a fresh installation of Windows you should immediately install the motherboard chipset drivers, graphics card driver, sound card driver and drivers of cards that you put on the PCI slot. Worked for me flawlessly on my laptops and desktops.

The above is right, so adding to that: You will need to find out where your sound chip is located. Typical place is on the motherboard, if this is true than you can go the the web site of the manufacturer and go to the support-drivers page. If the system in question was a prebuilt such as Dell or HP, just visit their site, find support for your system and down load the drivers. You may be missing other drivers to that XP just installed generic drivers that will have you missing features.

the appropriate homestead windows OS to apply is the only that got here pre-put in on it. continually!!! this is all with reference to the hardware. Your historic pictures card sucks, and you decide on 3 GB of RAM, for XP with provider %. 3. that's why you basically get 3.0 on the E. R., and this is not properly worth upgrading. And, your previous DELL, with an Intel P4, in all threat got here with XP. So, whilst it dies, and it will, the subsequent workstation you purchase would be designed to run W 7, or maybe W 8, on the hardware point. until then, stick to XP, which would be out of date in mid-2014. And, in case you keep $5 each and every week, you will need near to $ seven-hundred stored up for a clean workstation, by utilising then.
