That was four months ago. Two months prior to your losing weight and feeling bad, so anything could have happened in those two months.

I would go to another doctor. I am not trying to scare you but as a phlebotomist I have seen many people go months and even years before a HIV test shows positive. If you are HIV positive it usually takes atleast three months to be reactive. I would get a HIV test every six months. Sudden weight loss is a sign of HIV, but that does not mean that is what it is. If you are under a lot of stress you could lose weight also. Weight loss and weight gain are linked to your hormone levels. Hormone levels have a affect on your metabolism. There for when you are stressed and hormones are released it affects your body. A lot of people gain weight with stress, and if your eating more and loosing weight you need to go back to the doctor and demand some more test. Drinking more water can also cause weight loss. Good luck, hopefull you will be fine.

I've lost 15 lbs 3-4 yrs ago when i was around 20.. i had no idea why. i went to the doctor b/c we all thought my thyroid. did lots of bloodwork but it was a negative.. we did an upper GI to rule out Chrons.. did an endoscopy to rule out Celiac. did an abdomen sonogram to rule out other problems... ultimately i quit going to the doctor b/c they would do test after test if I kept going and everything was just coming back negative..... me and my mom came to the conclusion that i was depressed.. which made sense then

I'm tagging on to Stacey's answer. I am 5'2" and dropped from 110 to 95 lbs in a month. I felt horrible all the time. In my case, it turned out to be celiac (a disease where you are intolerance to glutens found in wheat, barley, etc). Ask for another blood test to rule out overactive thyroid gland, and ask to test for celiac. It used to be that you had to get a colonoscopy to tell; now there is a blood test for the gluten protein antibodies. Get checked for diabetes (simple urine test). ...go to your doctor armed with these possibilities (and possibly other glandular or food allergy problems) and get a thorough check.

There could be so many reasons, from being over stressed to very serious conditions. I think the best answer would be to schedule another appointment with your doctor and tell all that is going on. For us to try to give you advice would be only guessing and we could be so wrong. Good luck.

Unintended weight loss is not good. I do not want to scare you but you should discuss this with your doctor. A blood test does not tell all, this requires further investigation.
